Yellow Film Studios, the largest independent studio in the Nordics and parent to Yellow Film & TV Finland, 255 Pix and Newgrange Pictures in Ireland, has announced a strategic merger with leading Danish sales and financing studio REinvent. Together, they are launching Reinvent Yellow, a unified hub for production, sales, financing and innovation.

The new group brings together 33 years of production expertise, a catalog of thousands of titles, and strong financial backing, positioning itself as a one-stop partner for producers and buyers worldwide. “With content, strategy, financing, sales and technology under one roof, Reinvent Yellow will offer industry partners both creative power and solid financial support,” the companies said in a statement.

The new partnership will offer “fresh strategic focus” and opportunities with third-party productions, internal projects, and hybrid co-productions forming the backbone of the group’s work.

    Reinvent Yellow will offer:
    • A strong focus on English-language content and international collaborations, aiming to deliver commercially viable, creatively ambitious global content.
    • On the TV side, the group will prioritize both top-notch talent and original crime series, while also highlighting REinvent’s extensive catalog, including representation of the films of legendary director Ingmar Bergman represented by SF Studios.

Reinvent Yellow is also investing heavily in new technology across both sales and content creation, deploying specialized windowing strategies, technology-driven efficiencies, and innovative financing tools.

Heikki Herlin, principal owner of Reinvent Yellow, believes the company is “a pioneer in powerful storytelling” for today’s multi-platform world.

“At its core is a promise to keep reinventing itself,” Herlin said, “… something essential in today’s fast-changing digital era.”

“This merger is about futureproofing,” said CEO Olli Haikka. “By uniting creative development, technology, and innovative financing under one roof, we’re creating a smarter, faster, and more scalable entertainment business built for a changing global market.”

“We’re creating a space where the best talent will want to work. We champion stories that matter and can find an international market for them,” said deputy CEO Rikke Ennis. “With strong capitalization, we’re ready to meet the competition, while remaining open-minded in making deals and collaborations.”

Reinvent Yellow’s chairman Peter Barkman added: “Together we form a new kind of team with deep market insight and investment muscle. Add to it our state-of-the-art digitalization and AI entity 255pix and we have a truly unique skill set for international scaling and content creation.”

The new company will be led by a strong leadership team with complementary expertise:

Ennis will be overall responsible for sales, acquisitions and distribution operations, driving revenue growth through content sales, licensing, partnerships, acquisitions, talent development and M&A while aligning commercial strategy with content output across markets.

Haikka will lead growth, new business, development and production, focusing on scalable, market-responsive formats – scripted, AI-driven and short-form, overseeing in-house innovation and international IP development, supported by Laura Teirikko as COO.

Helene Aurø will be chief sales officer in charge of sales, marketing and acquisitions.

Jorma Reinilä, as CFO, will oversee internal financial operations, while Frederik Nelsson, as chief revenue officer, will provide financing and investment solutions to partners and projects. In addition, Nelsson will also lead on AI and digital tools.
