Bangkok-based horror studio Fearfolks is making its market debut at Busan’s Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) with a slate of three horror and thriller titles slated for 2026 and 2027 releases.

The company’s inaugural lineup includes “Cher,” a supernatural revenge horror story; “Mutelu,” a horror tale centered on fortune sharing rituals; and “Rinrada,” a teen cyber-horror thriller.

“Cher” stars Arak Amornsupasiri (“The Stone,” “In Youth We Trust”) and is directed by Songsak Mongkolthong (“Mercury Man,” “The Unborn”). The film presents a modern horror retelling of ancient Thai folklore inspired by the legend of forest nymphs called nang mai.

“Mutelu” marks a genre departure for International Emmy award winner Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying (“Hunger,” “Bad Genius”) and director Yanyong Kuruaungkoul (“Ready Set Love,” “App War,” “Mother Gamer”). The film centers on Bua, played by Chutimon, who is born into misfortune, discovers a mysterious amulet allowing her to “borrow” others’ good fortune, and unleashes malevolent spirits that threaten everything she holds dear.

“Rinrada” is a revenge horror tale starring real-life trailblazing trans actress Yoshi Rinrada Thurapan and child actor Nutthatcha Jessica Padovanis (“Death Whisperer,” “Taklee Genesis”). The story follows an influencer who gets reincarnated for 28 days and returns to haunt the bullies who drove her to suicide.

Fearfolks was founded by former Night Edge exec Hans Audric Estialbo and Benetone Film Group’s CEO and COO Rachvin Narula and Kulthep Narula. The company aims to create an expansive horror IP value chain encompassing creative development, financing, production and distribution. Fearfolks’ initial releases include Neon’s “Shelby Oaks,” “Good Boy” and “The Toxic Avenger.” The company plans to open an Indian distribution office by year’s end.

“Fearfolks is a place — a community of horror aficionados: folks who embrace the dark, love spooks and thrills, and lavish on the experience of getting scared together,” said Estialbo. “Fearfolks is their headquarters for all their horror needs. At the same time, Fearfolks serves as a voice for the new horror generation: those who have something to say, stories to share and audience to spook.”

Rachvin Narula added, “The independent film landscape is evolving, and filmmakers need a partner who understands both creative integrity and market realities. Our goal is to have creative storytelling at the heart of the company, with a bridge to strategic global outreach from the outset, ensuring a filmmaker’s project is positioned for success.”

Kulthep Narula noted, “With Fearfolks, a one of a kind horror banner in Asia, Benetone Film Group creates a revolutionary ecosystem that encourages growth in the industry, from production and financing to global distribution and IP management.”

Fearfolks is participating as part of the Thai delegation at ACFM.
