The clip is another look at the concert doc filmed in Rome on Gilmour’s last roadshow

After previewing his imminent concert film, Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome, in July with “Sorrow,” David Gilmour is now offering a second peek at the movie. On Thursday, a newly released live clip of “Luck and Strange” dropped, the title song of his most recent solo album and the name of the 2016 tour that accompanied it.

As with “Sorrow,” “Luck and Strange,” a deeply atmospheric track with one of Gilmour’s trademark piercing solos, is part of Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome, a concert film to be released for a limited run in theaters and IMAX on Sept. 17. A month later, a Blu Ray and DVD version of the film will also be rolled out.

Shot amidst the ruins of ancient Rome, Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome documents Gilmour’s first tour in a decade, where he introduced a largely new band lineup and played songs from both his Pink Floyd days and his own work. The movie will come in particularly handy for Gilmour and Floyd fans, given that the “Luck and Strange” tour only played in two American cities (New York and Los Angeles) and ran seven weeks total.

For those seeking a deeper dive into the tour, Gilmour is also prepping The Luck and Strange Concerts, 23 tracks recorded at various venues on the road. Available in different configurations (on four LPs or two CDs as well as a “super deluxe” box set), the compilation will also be out October 17. Along with Gilmour’s solo tracks, it will also include versions of Floyd classics like “Comfortably Numb,” “Breathe (In the Air),” “Time,” and “Wish You Were Here.”
