Drivers Say Rising Gas Prices Are ‘Out of Control’
Gasoline prices in the U.S. passed $4 a gallon, on average, as the war in the Middle East affects global energy markets. Drivers said that the rising costs were affecting their wallets.
“Gas prices right now is insane. You can see right here is $5 on the sign.” “I was saying the gas prices are ridiculous. Paying $4.50 a gallon, almost, is just out of control. We’re not going to be able to take care of our families in a minute.” “I hope both sides can figure it out, even though I think it’s probably the U.S. that’s probably causing most of it.” “It’s messing with a lot of people in different ways, money wise, and it’s just unfair to all of us. It doesn’t matter if you’re Democrat or Republican, it’s everybody.” “I’m a DoorDash deliverer. I deliver DoorDash, so I need my car to work to drive people, deliver their food. The majority of the money I make doing that, I have to put it back in my car.” “So I’m paying $70, almost $80 a tank for my vehicle. And thankfully, I don’t got to pay for this vehicle. But still, even as a company, that still hurts.”
