Stratton Favored to Succeed Durbin After Senate Primary Win in Illinois

Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton of Illinois won the Democratic nomination for Senate on Tuesday. She is heavily favored to succeed the retiring Senator Dick Durbin in November.

“I’m Juliana Stratton. I’m so proud to serve as your lieutenant governor, and I am humbled and honored to stand before you tonight as your Democratic nominee for the United States Senate.” “It’s time for bold ideas, big dreams and real courage in Washington. Courage inspired me to run. Courage powered this campaign. And courage will bring this fight straight to Donald Trump’s door.” “For almost eight years, I’ve had the pleasure of calling her well, lieutenant governor. Well, I am so proud that in seven months we get to call her senator.”
