The House on Wednesday approved a Senate-passed bill to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history after more than a month of stalemate. The bill now goes to the president for his signature.

Members voted mostly along party lines, with all but two Republicans voting “yes” and all but six Democrats voting “no.”

The shutdown impasse was broken earlier this week after a small group of Senate Democrats split with their party and brokered a deal with Republicans to fund the government. The final bill does not include the extension of expiring health insurance subsidies that most Democrats had been holding out for, but Democratic negotiators did secure the restoration of the jobs of federal workers who were laid off during the shutdown and guaranteed backpay for those who were furloughed.
