The song follows the rock band’s recent album, Rushmere, which dropped in March

Mumford & Sons have released a new single, “Rubber Band Men,” featuring Hozier. The rollicking folk rock track was produced by the National‘s Aaron Dessner at Long Pond Studios in New York, and sees Marcus Mumford and Hozier trading vocals.

Hozier has regularly teamed up with Mumford & Sons over the years. In 2017, he joined Mumford & Sons on stage to cover the Beatles’ “A Little Help From My Friends” at the Longitude Festival, and the musicians collaborated on “Awake My Soul” at Austin City Limits in 2023.

Mumford & Sons released their most recent LP, Rushmere, in March. They recorded the album with producer Dave Cobb at RCA Studio A in Nashville, as well as in Savannah, Georgia and at Mumford’s own studio in Devon, England. The album notably marked the group’s first as a trio following the departure of Winston Marshall, who left the band partly over political differences with his bandmates.

Earlier this week, the band welcomed surprise guests Lainey Wilson and Sierra Ferrell to the stage in Nashville for a few special changes to their usual setlist. Ferrell joined the band toward the middle of the set for a cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “If I Needed You.” Wilson appeared later in the set just before the encore. They started off with her own record “Things a Man Oughta Know,” then segued into a one-mic duet of the Sigh No More deep cut “Awake My Soul.”
