Across the UK, teachers are being subjected to the echoes of the words “six-seven” shouted out at random by pupils in a new craze sweeping through classrooms.

The phrase appears to have originated with the Philadelphia rapper Skrilla’s 2024 track Doot Doot (6 7), which is thought to be either a reference to police radio code, or 67th Street, or something else.

It went viral when the song was repeatedly used to soundtrack clips of the NBA basketball star LaMelo Ball, who also happens to be 6ft 7in.

We would l like to hear from UK teachers about this craze. How is it affecting your teaching and your working day? What have you done to cope with it? Have you tried to avoid it? Or Perhaps you have incorporated it into your teaching? Tell us.
