Maria Ishak, the longtime international TV executive who most recently worked at Asacha Media Group, has launched Mischief International, a company specializing in IP development, talent curation and financing.
With offices in Paris and London, the banner will also handle strategic packaging, international co-financing and marketing.
Mischief’s inaugural slate includes a feature documentary with Public Square Films directed by
David France, the Oscar-nominated producer of “How to Survive a Plague;” a Finnish drama written by Camilla Ahlgren, the acclaimed screenwriter of “Millenium;” a feature documentary with All3Media’s award-winning StoryFilms; and a French-English drama co-produced with Fremantle’s Mintee and U.K.-based Indefinite Films.
“Mischief is focused on backing bold ideas with a clear path to market. Whether through traditional
commissioning or bespoke funding models, we’re here to get shows made,” said Ishak, who’s worked in the U.S., U.K. and Europe. “In today’s complex and challenged landscape, the need for creatively driven strategic partnerships has never been greater. Mischief combines a story-first vision with hands-on expertise in developing, financing, and producing content that resonates with international audiences,” she continued.
Prior to founding Mischief, Ishak was head of international content and co-productions at Asacha
Media Group, the Oaktree Capital-backed business which was acquired by Fremantle in 2023. While there, she played a key role in packaging titles like “Cicatriz” and “Poe,” the TF1 show starring Freddie Highmore; and she also helped navigate the Fremantle deal for Asacha.
