Sophie Cookson (“Infinite,” “Kingsman”) and Franka Potente (“Run Lola Run,” “Bourne”) have wrapped filming on espionage thriller “The Hive,” directed by Martin Rosete (“Remember Me,” “Money”).
The Augenschein Film title has been boarded for sales by Architect, who will co-rep with Augenschein Sales for worldwide and with CAA for domestic.
The movie sees Cookson star as Maria Gomez, a rising star at Interpol, who is parachuted into The Hive – a high-tech, highly classified command unit — just as a bomb goes off during a summit in Tenerife. Headed by Potente’s notoriously ruthless Kate McKenzie, The Hive have just 90 minutes to scour the city, execute the shadowy threat before it strikes again, and neutralize an unexpected threat from within.
Jamie Bamber, Adam Pålsson, Gonzalo Bouza, Paul S. Tracey, Godeliv Van Den Brandt and Mundy Rieu also star.
“The Hive” was was shot between the Canary Islands, Spain, and Cologne, Germany. Maximilian Leo and Jonas Katzenstein produce for augenschein Filmproduktion (“Mother Mary,” “Islands,” “The Assessmen”t), along with Scott Veltri, Jack Heller and Georgia Poivre.

Spanish filmmaker Rosete directs from a screenplay by Gabriel Dowrick and Ben Phelps (“Skin Trade,” “Terminus”), co-written by Gemma Ventura (“Centaur”) and George Nicholis. Rosete was Goya Award nominated for his debut “Voice Over,” for which he also won the Melies d’Or at Sitges. Most recently his “Remember Me,” starring Bruce Dern and Brian Cox, was released worldwide by Universal. Rosete’s thriller “Money,” which led Variety to dub him “one of Spain’s most talked-about directors to follow”, was released worldwide by Netflix.
“The Hive” is co-produced by Tower Way, Assemble Media and ZDF and was funded by the Film und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF) as well as the Spanish Tax Incentive with production services provided by Volcano Films (“La Palma,” “The Helicopter Heist,” “Exodus: Gods and Kings”) in Spain.
