King Princess can’t help herself on her new single “Girls,” the latest preview from her forthcoming studio album Girl Violence, out Sept. 12.
“Cruel/You prep my despair/And you know I like it (You know I like it)/When rules don’t seem fair/It gets you excited (So excited)/And to let you back in/That would be violence/Yeah, that would be chaos/I wanna try it,” she sings on a sweltering verse. “Girls/Bring me to my knees.”
“Girls” follows the release of “RIP KP” and “Cry Cry Cry.” Ahead of the single, King Princess shared a breaking news broadcast hosted by Lina Rinna for C.U.N.T. News. “Weeks after King Princess’s miraculous resurrection, one figure remains committed to chaos — Cherry,” Rinna said in the video clip. “Despite being publicly accused of poisoning KP, vandalizing tour posters, and stealing thousands of dollars worth of band equipment, Cherry appears undeterred and is now taking her campaign digital.”
She continued: “She filed a legal request to be credited as co-lead vocalist (emotionally) on the upcoming album. She doxed KP’s alleged birth chart with the caption, ‘This explains everything.’ She commented, ‘You’ll never be me’ under every official tour announcement post. Cherry is the biggest bully in Hollywood. Fans are calling the behavior iconic, unwell, and an immersive multimedia performance piece. Meanwhile, King Princess has yet to issue a formal response.”

If “Girls” is any indication, KP would let her do it all again.
Learning further into the cherry aesthetic, King Princess is partnering with a number of tattoo shops for the release of Girl Violence. “Along w/ section1 and each participating tattoo shop, I’ll be making donations to local charities who support the LGBTIQA+ communities in their cities,” the singer-songwriter shared on Instagram. Flash tattoos inspired by the record will be available at 13 locations in New York, London, Toronto, Sydney, Austin, Portland, and more.
