The country’s top gymnasts are in New Orleans this weekend for the 2025 U.S. Gymnastics Championships. The annual event will see new athletes vying for a national title, with many podium spots up for grabs following the absence of stars Simone Biles, Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles.
This year’s field will be headlined by 2024 Olympians Hezly Rivera, who won a gold medal as part of the women’s all-around team, along with Stephen Nedoroscik, who became a viral sensation (and Dancing With the Stars contestant) after his bronze medal-winning pommel horse routine.

The men kick off the proceedings on Thursday, followed by the women on Friday. The weekend’s competition concludes with the men’s finals on Saturday, and the senior women’s finals on Sunday evening.

Who Is Competing at the 2025 U.S. Gymnastics Championships?
Simone Biles and Suni Lee — the two most recent Olympic all-around gold medalists — won’t be competing this year, leaving the women’s field wide open for a new national champion. Rivera helped the U.S. women win gold at the Paris Olympics and is considered a favorite for the 2025 national title, but she’ll face stiff competition from Paris Olympic alternates Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong. While Biles is not in the field, there is another Simone — Simone Rose — who is expected to challenge for the podium. The 17-year-old finished second to Claire Pease at the recent U.S. Classic.
The men’s competition is highlighted by Nedoroscik, along with veterans Brody Malone, Asher Hong, and Frederick Richard. All four of them — plus Paul Juda, who is sitting out this year — led the U.S. men to a bronze medal in the team competition in Paris.
