Kim Taylor-Coleman, a veteran casting director, has been elected president of the board of the Academy Foundation.

The Academy Foundation oversees all educational, preservation, and cultural activities of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, including the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library, the Academy Film Archive, the Academy Collection and the Academy’s talent development programs.

Its board is composed of 12 trustees who are all also members of the Academy’s board of governors.

Also elected to officer positions on the Academy Foundation Board were Brooke Breton of the visual effects branch, as a vice president; Simon Kilmurry of the documentary branch, as treasurer; Isis Mussenden of the costume designers branch, as a vice president; and Marlon West of the animation branch, as secretary.

The other members of the board are Paul Cameron of the cinematographers branch; Patricia Cardoso of the directors branch; Peter Devlin of the sound branch; Lynette Howell Taylor of the producers branch (who was elected president of the Academy’s board of governors on July 31); Larry Karaszewski of the writers branch; Stephen Rivkin of the film editors branch; and Dana Stevens of the writers branch.

Bill Kramer, the Academy’s CEO, said in a statement: “Through the work of the Academy’s museum, collection, and educational programs, the Academy Foundation furthers our mission to celebrate artistry and innovation in filmmaking, inspire new generations of filmmakers, and preserve our global film history. I am deeply thankful to our Academy Foundation Board members, whose leadership and dedication help advance these meaningful initiatives.”

Academy Foundation Board members and officers serve one-year terms. As representatives of the Foundation board, Howell Taylor, Kilmurry, and Taylor-Coleman will also serve on the Academy Museum’s board of trustees for one-year terms.
