Timex just dropped a new Intrepid, one of its fan-favorite watches, but this time with a twist. The new launch features a gender-inclusive 36-millimeter size and a fresh design, courtesy of femme-forward watch resource Dimepiece.
The Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece released on Aug. 8 at Timex, Dimepiece, Todd Snyder, and END. with a price tag of $239. Be sure to grab one quickly, though: The recently-released Timex 1995 Intrepid Reissue sold out in seconds on Timex’s site, and we expect the new release to go similarly quickly.

The new Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece watch was designed to “reflect the spirit” of Dimepiece: “inclusive, smart, and the kind of cool you don’t have to explain.” The smaller case looks especially good on women’s wrists, but it’s also a great choice for guys looking to nail the trend of smaller men’s timepieces.
Other design tweaks include a four o’clock crown placement and a contrasting cream and black dial. The Indiglow pusher, hour markers, and second hand also get a playful purple makeover. Just like the original Intrepid, the new one features a rugged build and a 100-meter water resistance rating.
The original Timex Intrepid was a Nineties icon, largely thanks to its regular appearance on the wrist of JFK Jr. The new watch’s design was spearheaded by Dimepiece founder Brynn Wallner and vintage curator, Alan Bedwell of Foundwell. Wallner created Dimepiece as a “femme forward resource for anyone who might be into watches, from First Dimers, to seasoned collectors.” The site features a careful curation of timepieces, as well as a blog offering accessible information and commentary on the watch world.
