“South Park” returned to its controversial antics this week with its 27th season, whose premiere episode portrayed Donald Trump begging for sex from Satan and featured a Deepfake-assisted PSA where Trump goes fully nude. The episode aired on Comedy Central on Wednesday night and is now streaming on Paramount+, which will continue to stream episodes the day after their initial broadcast for the rest of the season.
If you’re looking to stream episodes in real time, you can also access Comedy Central on a variety of live TV streamers such as DirecTV, Sling TV and Hulu + Live TV.
The Season 27 premiere sparked outrage from the Trump White House, which issued a statement immediately after the Wednesday premiere. “The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end – for years they have come after ‘South Park’ for what they labeled as ‘offense’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show,” Rogers wrote in a statement to Variety. “Just like the creators of ‘South Park,’ the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows.”
The episode, titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” is centered around Trump suing those who speak out against him. In the episode, the town of South Park riles up a protest against the president. At the height of the conflict, Jesus Christ descends from the sky to seemingly support the cause. Unfortunately, he’s actually there to warn them. He says that “South Park” could get “canceled” if they don’t stop the protest, citing the recent “60 Minutes” settlement as proof of what happens when you mess with Trump.
While “South Park” has never shied away from controversy, the political episode is notable as it aired soon after Trey Parker and Matt Stone signed a new five-year deal with Paramount that includes 50 new episodes plus all seasons of the show becoming available to stream on Paramount+ for the first time.
Until last month, “South Park” had been streaming on HBO Max, although Paramount+ has aired several “South Park” specials over the last few years.
Season 27 will continue to broadcast on a weekly basis on Comedy Central, with new episodes becoming available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
