A note from Scott: On Tuesday morning, at 8:30 a.m. PST, Harvey Guillén and Brenda Song, stars of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows and Netflix’s Running Point, respectively, will announce the TV Academy’s nominees for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards via the TV Academy’s website and YouTube channel.

As you know, I’ve been tracking the race since May 1, and updating this forecast each week to reflect my latest intel. At this point, I have winnowed each category’s chart down to just my projected nominees (the number varies by category depending on the number of entries that were deemed eligible), as well as an alternate, a potential surprise and a “shoulda been a contenda” — as in, something or someone that I suspect will not be nominated, but is worthy of a nomination.

Expect big showings for a bunch of the usual suspects (e.g. FX’s The Bear, Apple TV+’s Severance, HBO/HBO Max’s’s The White Lotus and The Last of Us and HBO Max’s Hacks), as well as a few rookies (Apple TV+’s The Studio and Your Friends & Neighbors, Netflix’s Nobody Wants This and Adolescence and HBO Max’s The Pitt).

And be sure to check back here a little after the noms announcement for my in-depth analysis of what happened and why!

Remember: You can bookmark this page and return to it for Scott’s latest picks. Excepting holidays and breaking news events, it will be updated on Mondays. Think of Scott like a meteorologist: his aim is to forecast what will happen, not to advocate for what he thinks should happen. His projections are arrived at by screening shows, analyzing campaigns, consulting voters and referencing history.
