\n\t\u201cAnne With an E\u201d creator and \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d writer Moira Walley-Beckett has exited Amazon\u2019s TV series adaptation of \u201cFourth Wing\u201d after signing on as showrunner last July, Variety<\/em> has learned.<\/p>\n \n\tFirst put into\u00a0development in October 2023, the \u201cFourth Wing\u201d TV series hails from Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan\u2019s Outlier Society. The \u201cFourth Wing\u201d TV series has not yet been ordered to series and does not have a cast attached to the project.<\/p>\n \n\tAccording to sources close to the project, \u201cAgatha All Along\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cWandaVision\u201d\u00a0creator\u00a0Jac Schaeffer\u00a0is in talks to take over as \u201cFourth Wing\u201d showrunner after signing an overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios.<\/p>\n \n\tBased on the best-selling romantasy book series from author\u00a0Rebecca Yarros, dubbed \u201cThe Empyrean\u201d novels, \u201cFourth Wing\u201d is set inside the brutal world of Basgiath War College, where there is only one rule: graduate or Die. Our protagonist, 20-year-old Violet Sorrengail, was always expected to live a quiet life \u2014 but she\u2019s sent on an entirely different path when her mother, a general in the military, orders her to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become dragon riders, the elite of Navarre.<\/p>\n \n\tExecutive producers on \u201cFourth Wing\u201d include Jordan and Outlier president Elizabeth Raposo, along with author Yarros and Liz Pelletier (head of \u201cFourth Wing\u201d publisher Entangled Publishing). Outlier Society executive vice president of TV Stefano Agosto will co-executive produce.<\/p>\n \n\tYarros\u2019 \u201cThe Empyrean\u201d book series (which is planned to be five books in total) began with the May 2023 release of mega New York Times best-seller \u201cFourth Wing.\u201d The sequel, \u201cIron Flame,\u201d hit shelves November 2023, and \u201cOnyx Storm,\u201d the third book in the ongoing series (currently planned as five books) debuted this January.
