On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host spoke about the president considering a US military strike on Iran with \u201call options on the table\u201d.<\/p>\n
Kimmel joked that for him that would mean \u201cMcDonald\u2019s, Popeyes, Burger King, Domino\u2019s and KFC\u201d.<\/p>\n
The talk has meant that the Magaverse is \u201cintensely divided\u201d and with Trump still expressing unsureness, Kimmel said: \u201cWho the hell knows what he\u2019s gonna do?\u201d<\/p>\n
A statement quoted Trump as saying that he will have an answer in two weeks. \u201cFor a guy whose catchphrase is \u2018you\u2019re fired\u2019, no one has ever given more two weeks\u2019 notice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
While this week typically contains the longest day of the year, Kimmel joked that \u201cevery day is the longest day of the year\u201d in 2025.<\/p>\n
The weather is set to be \u201cunusually hot\u201d in the US this summer, according to experts. \u201cThis is why the pope moved to Italy, it\u2019s too hot,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n
This week also saw Americans celebrate Juneteenth, a national holiday to commemorate the end of slavery, although many on the right refused to join in. \u201cWe\u2019re the ones who stopped enslaving, they should have a holiday for us!\u201d Kimmel imagined them saying.<\/p>\n
On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert called Juneteenth \u201ca day of joy so Donald Trump doesn\u2019t like it\u201d.<\/p>\n
He spoke about Trump\u2019s first executive order at the start of his second term, which demanded the dissolution of DEI, including a halt to all activities like Juneteenth.<\/p>\n
This week also saw RFK Jr\u2019s health and human services department remove advice on daily drinking limits. \u201cVaccine shots are discouraged but tequila shots are not,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Instead, a statement will recommend that Americans drink in moderation. \u201cYes, because that\u2019s something Americans are great at: moderation,\u201d Colbert joked.<\/p>\n
Like Kimmel, he also remarked that \u201cthis year the longest day has been every day\u201d before speaking about Elon Musk, who has been \u201ctaking a break from destroying our government\u201d to oversee the explosion of an unmanned starship rocket.<\/p>\n
He then moved on to Iran and spoke about Trump\u2019s statement about waiting two weeks. \u201cTwo weeks\u2019 notice is so important,\u201d he said before comparing his remarks to \u201cquitting your sales job at Best Buy\u201d.<\/p>\n
Colbert said he\u2019s probably \u201ctoo distracted by the stuff he wants to destroy here\u201d.<\/p>\n
On Late Night, Seth Meyers spoke about people making comparisons between Trump and George W Bush.<\/p>\n
\u201cTrump would not appreciate this comparison,\u201d he said, showing footage of Trump criticising how Bush handled the Iraq war.<\/p>\n
But while many of his loyalists have \u201cclaimed the Bush era was over\u201d, there are many similarities between the two.<\/p>\n
Meyers spoke about the hugely unpopular new bill that was recently pushed through with a large amount of Americans not in favour as it helps out richer citizens over the working class.<\/p>\n
He also spoke about Trump\u2019s desire to start a \u201cdisastrous war in the Middle East\u201d and expressed concern over the president not knowing what he is going to do. \u201cYou should know what you\u2019re gonna do and we should also know!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meyers said that we are relying on the \u201cwhims of a single madman\u201d over something so important.<\/p>\n
He also said we should be worried that Pete Hegseth is involved, playing footage of him talking about medical experiments where marbles are placed inside cat anuses.<\/p>\n
First, Meyers said, \u201cDon\u2019t kink-shame,\u201d while also saying it sounds unlikely as \u201cthey barely let you pet their heads\u201d.<\/p>\n
