Regarding your letters on men pushing women in the street (20 February), I have just returned from an hour\u2019s walk, and I\u2019m pleased to say that, on two separate occasions, men walking towards me voluntarily changed their trajectory to let me past. I just kept walking in a straight line.\u00a0Maybe they read the Guardian, or maybe men in Bradford are considerate. If it\u2019s a preventative treatment that has caused a flaring up, maybe\u00a0the US president would have been better not applying it (Trump neck rash from \u2018preventative\u2019 skin treatment, White House says, 2 March). Perhaps there is a\u00a0foreign policy\u00a0lesson there, too: a\u00a0guide for\u00a0the\u00a0rash. I say \u201csnap\u201d to Melanie White\u2019s method of \u201ccognitive shuffling\u201d (Letters, 23 February). I\u2019ve developed quite a cache of topics to aid falling to sleep, my latest two being job titles and puddings. Your letter writer calls their Belling bed-warmer Horace (20 February). My parents were given one as a wedding present in\u00a01961 and that one goes by the name of Uncle Alfred, after the donor, my late father\u2019s uncle. It\u00a0continues to warm my family\u2019s beds to this day. In the 1960s, my brother and I\u00a0had to rely on our two labradors\u00a0and the neighbours\u2019 dog\u00a0for our bed warming.
