\n\tIrish cinematographer Robbie Ryan will be honored by The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> at this year\u2019s EnergaCamerimage film festival with the inaugural THR Visionary in Cinematography Award.<\/p>\n \n\tRyan is one of the most versatile and acclaimed cinematographers working today. A two-time Oscar nominee for his lensing of Yorgos Lanthimos\u2018 The Favourite <\/em>(2018) and Poor Things<\/em> (2023) \u2014 their latest collaboration is the awards-season favorite Bugonia<\/em>, screening at Camerimage \u2014 Ryan\u2019s broad body of work includes several films with Andrea Arnold (American Honey<\/em>, Fish Tank, Wuthering Heights<\/em>),<\/em>Ken Loach (I, Daniel Blake<\/em>, Sorry We Missed You<\/em>) and Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story<\/em>, The Meyerowitz Stories<\/em>) alongside features by Stephen Frears (Philomena<\/em>), and Mike Mills (C\u2019mon C\u2019mon<\/em>).<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cRyan is an outstanding cinematographer, celebrated for his ability to create evocative, emotionally charged imagery that combines naturalism with striking visual artistry,\u201d the festival said in a statement. \u201cHis style is characterized by authenticity, an intuitive approach to light, and a unique way of capturing human emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tRyan is a Camerimage regular and has been honored many times before at the festival, receiving the Audience Award for Best Film and the Golden Frog for C\u2019mon C\u2019mon<\/em> in 2021, the Bronze Frog for Best Cinematography for Wuthering Heights<\/em> in 2011, and Bronze Frog for Poor Things<\/em> in 2023. He also took home the Best Cinematography Award for the music video \u201cIron Sky\u201d by Paolo Nutini, directed by Daniel Wolfe.<\/p>\n \n\tRyan will receive his award in person during the festival\u2019s opening ceremony in Toru\u0144, Poland on Nov. 15.
