Two murals that depict the founding of the college and its library will remain on campus, under the college\u2019s ownership. The murals will be reunited at Talladega, likely every six to eight years, and their connection to the college will be highlighted in future exhibitions, <em>The New York Times <\/em>reported. Art experts estimate the sales are worth about $20\u00a0million, a boon for an institution with a $5\u00a0million endowment that\u2019s faced recent financial crises, struggling to make payroll in spring 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of these new arrangements is \u201cto ensure a vibrant future for Talladega by creating a meaningful financial opportunity that better prepares our students for an evolving world,\u201d Rica Lewis-Payton, chair of Talladega\u2019s Board of Trustees, said in a news release from the college. Officials also hope to \u201cexpand the profile of Alabama\u2019s first private Historically Black College\u201d and \u201cincrease the visibility of Hale A.
