In a platform like ours, we have so many great investors. I think a lot of firms, including ours, in many places, are at the task level, but we could really help them improve these tasks. We can\u00a0<\/span>write<\/span>\u00a0research reports by using the deep research agent and compiling all the various information\u2026<\/span><\/span>\u00a0My<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>hypothesis is that firms like ours are going to get completely transformed [by AI] and the firms that win are those that\u00a0<\/span>are able to<\/span>\u00a0do the best job at using AI to extract the heuristics of the\u00a0<\/span>very best<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>investors<\/span>.*<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On measuring AI<\/span>\u00a0investment\u00a0<\/span>ROI\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n C.J.\u00a0Jaskoll:<\/span>\u00a0AI is\u00a0new, but\u00a0change management is not. For all\u00a0change\u00a0at every buy-side firm I\u2019ve ever been\u00a0at, there are really two major ways that I think about ROI. Number one: operational efficiency. That means avoiding a trade error, reducing costs, and reducing risk.\u00a0All of\u00a0those things can be tangible and quantified.\u00a0If you are able to quantify that, then you can pay for the platform you\u2019re building or that you\u2019ve bought.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The second one, which\u00a0I think our industry\u00a0has and almost no other industry has, is generating alpha. I was talking to a friend last week who asked the same question, and he said, \u201cHow do I bring this data into my firm?\u201d I said, \u201cOne\u00a0trade\u00a0at your firm will pay for the entire platform and three developers.\u201d\u00a0But is ROI actually needed right now?\u00a0I think\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0still in the honeymoon period.\u00a0I don\u2019t think many companies are actually thinking about ROI.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On scaling research with agentic AI<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Nan Xiao<\/span><\/span>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong>We\u2019ve<\/span>\u00a0deployed [solutions that are in] production already<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and a lot of things in experiments. We have research agents who do multi-steps research and\u00a0<\/span>come up with<\/span>\u00a0conviction<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and go from there to generate sizing, suggestions, trading ideas, and\u00a0<\/span>essentially simulate<\/span>\u00a0outcomes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>hose goals become<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>proposals to PMs<\/span>. A<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>possible use<\/span>\u00a0case will also be<\/span>\u2026<\/span>\u00a0you can\u00a0ask\u00a0<\/span>[AI]<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>think<\/span>\u00a0[about]<\/span>\u00a0things differently.<\/span>\u00a0I<\/span>nstead of having one research analyst,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>it\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0like<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[having]<\/span>\u00a0five research analysts\u00a0<\/span>thinking from\u00a0<\/span>different a<\/span>ngles<\/span>.
