\n\tThree years after Stellan Skarsgard suffered a significant stroke, he opened up about how the medical emergency has created challenges in his acting career.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI found a way,\u201d Skarsgard told Vulture<\/em> about how he remembers his lines in an interview published on Wednesday.<\/p>\n \n\tWhile reflecting on filming the 2024 movie Dune: Part Two<\/em>, he said, \u201cThey have earpieces where you have a prompter that says the line. It\u2019s not enough because I have my rhythm. They have to say their line on top of my line for me to be able to answer it. They have to say it very fast, very neutral. It takes a lot of training for that guy.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tSkarsgard added that his stroke happening in between seasons of the Star Wars<\/em> drama Andor<\/em> and the two Dune<\/em> movies \u201cwas perfect timing.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYou might say, \u2018Oh, you\u2019re lucky. You don\u2019t have to learn your lines.\u2019 There\u2019s more work now than there was before,\u201d Skarsgard explained. \u201cSuddenly, I can\u2019t come up with names. I can\u2019t follow a thought or make an argument that spans several sentences that gets to the point \u2014 that, then bang! That is extremely frustrating. But on the other hand, I\u2019m alive. I can work.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tSkarsgard also admitted that his stroke made him \u201creally scared,\u201d though he hasn\u2019t let the experience stop him from acting. He will next appear in the movie Sentimental Value<\/em>, which he also executive produced. He stars in the movie as a film director seeking connection with his estranged daughters (Renate Reinsve and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas) as he makes a film about their lives. Sentimental Value<\/em> will be released in theaters on Nov. 7.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m not afraid of dying,\u201d Skarsgard added. \u201cBut I am afraid of not being capable of living. That is a fear. And being boring.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHe also said that being \u201cboring\u201d has always been a fear of his, even in his personal life. \u201cWith all my eight kids, there\u2019s one thing I\u2019ve been afraid of every time I have a new kid,\u201d Skarsgard said. \u201cNot that they have Down syndrome or they\u2019re autistic \u2026 that they\u2019re boring.
