\n\tJeremy Strong is opening up about his upcoming role as Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network<\/em> sequel.<\/p>\n

\n\tStrong will play the tech billionaire in The Social Reckoning<\/em>, Aaron Sorkin\u2018s follow-up to the 2010 film that saw Jesse Eisenberg portraying Zuckerberg\u2019s creation of Facebook. The sequel, set for October 2026, centers on a young Facebook engineer named Frances Haugen (played by Mikey Madison) who teams up with\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/em>\u00a0reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White) on a risky mission to bring attention to Facebook\u2019s biggest secrets.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, the Succession<\/em> star \u2014 sporting a bright red suit and lighter hair that he said was \u201cfor work\u201d \u2014 told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>, \u201cIt\u2019s one of the great scripts I\u2019ve ever read. It speaks to our time, it touches the third rail of everything happening in our world. It\u2019s a great character \u2014 fascinating, complex \u2014 and I\u2019m approaching it with great care and empathy and objectivity. I\u2019ve made two films with Aaron [with The Trial of the Chicago 7<\/em> and Molly\u2019s Game<\/em>] and third time\u2019s the charm.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked if he had talked to Eisenberg \u2014 who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in the first film \u2014 about taking over the Zuckerberg role, Strong said, \u201cNo, I think that has nothing to do with what I\u2019m going to do.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe sequel is set 17 years after the events of The Social Network<\/em>, with Strong \u2014 who is currently on the awards circuit for Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere<\/em> \u2014 portraying an older version of the CEO.
