\n\tThe 50th anniversary celebrations for The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em> are rolling on, and the latest drop is a collectible special edition vinyl of the film\u2019s classic soundtrack. The album is being released via Ode Records, and it\u2019s pressed on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl in red and gold. The vinyl is available to buy starting today. <\/p>\n \n\tThe deluxe vinyl has a heavyweight gold foil jacket and a redesigned inner sleeve, and comes with previously unseen photos and a production diary from producer Richard Hartley. <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\tThe Rocky Horror Picture Show (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) \u2013 50th Anniversary Red\/Gold Vinyl\t\t<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n \n\t\tRelease Date: Oct. 10, 2025\t<\/p>\n \n\tThe Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em> was based on a stage play by Richard O\u2019Brien, who also wrote the film and appeared in it as Riff Raff. When it was first released, it was critically panned and a commercial flop. But it gained popularity at midnight screenings, where fans would dress up as characters and mimic (and sometimes mock) the action on screen. <\/p>\n \n\tThe regular screenings of the film in various cities, from New York to Los Angeles to Paris, have given The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em> the distinction of technically being the longest-running theatrical release in film history. <\/p>\n \n\tIn an interview with Billboard, producer Richard Hartley discussed the film\u2019s enduring popularity and its rowdy midnight screenings, saying, \u201cI sat with Richard [O\u2019Brien] and that\u2019s when we heard them: people talking, shouting. I said to him, \u2018This is funnier than the film.\u2019 We thought it was something special. I\u2019d never seen anything like that before.
