It\u2019s a statement of where I come from and where I\u2019m going,” he tells Rolling Stone<\/em><\/p>\n \n\tHoyer is ready to introduce everyone to his world. The Mexican American star, known for his production credits on Danna\u2019s Childstar<\/em>, released his experimental pop album, titled Hoyer<\/em>, on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cEach song on Hoyer<\/em> is a reflection of where I\u2019ve been and what\u2019s shaped me \u2014 from the rhythms I grew up with to the moments that almost made me quit,\u201d he tells Rolling Stone<\/em>. \u201cThis project feels like coming home to myself.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAcross the ten tracks, the musician moves fluidly between genres, blending experimental pop with m\u00fasica mexicana on \u201cMia,\u201d diving into R&B and hip-hop on \u201cFWY\u201d and \u201cFin (Demo),\u201d and even singing in English and Spanish on the closing track, \u201cHoyer.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cHoyer is more than my music,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s my culture, my roots, and my journey woven into sound. It\u2019s a statement of where I come from and where I\u2019m going.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\tLeading up to the release, Hoyer worked with Mexican designers such as Ese Chico and Ayanegui, and artistic direction from Shaun Llewellyn, who shot the blurry album cover. Hoyer<\/em> was released under One Percent, his record label recently launched alongside Danna. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cOur mission is to create a special place for artists to reach their highest potential,\u201d he previously told Variety<\/em>, adding to Rolling Stone<\/em>: \u201cWhat we\u2019re doing at 1% Records is bigger than music \u2014 it\u2019s about culture, independence, and identity.
