In the first feature Competition, the jury awarded best director to Pauline Loqu\u00e8s for \u201cNino,\u201d while Cole Webley\u2019s \u201cOmaha\u201d won best film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe KlikFilm Short Movie Competition celebrated emerging Indonesian talent with four prizes. Sinung Winahyoko\u2019s \u201cBabon\u201d claimed first place and a feature film fund, while Joni Astin Ariadi\u2019s \u201cDarma\u201d took first runner-up (also receiving a feature film fund) and Ardian Parasto\u2019s \u201cPembayun\u201d placed as second runner-up (feature film fund as well). Nada Leo Prakasa\u2019s \u201cWahyu\u201d won the Audience Favorite Award and a cash prize of IDR50 million ($3,000).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe festival featured 185 films from 66 countries this year, drawing 208,111 attendees across online screenings and in-person cinema experiences in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFadli Zon, Indonesia\u2019s Minister of Culture, attended the closing ceremony and said: \u201cJakarta World Cinema is a very important event for the Indonesian film ecosystem, where it becomes a space for discussion and a celebration of cinema. Our film industry is something we must nurture, and so far its development has been very positive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHe added: \u201cThrough JWC, we are also very pleased to see that several young filmmakers now have the opportunity to make their first feature films funded by KlikFilm. We hope there will be more platforms like this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tExecutive director Frederica called the edition \u201ca turning point for us,\u201d noting the overwhelming audience response. \u201cWe are especially proud to provide opportunities for young Indonesian filmmakers to transition from shorts to feature films,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFestival director Shandy Gasella echoed the sentiment: \u201cThe audience response to JWC 2025 has been extraordinary.
