Enterprise giant Salesforce is looking to ride the vibe coding wave \u2014 where developers describe what they want in natural language and AI agents write the code \u2014 with\u00a0its\u00a0new AI-powered developer tool.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Salesforce announced its\u00a0new\u00a0vibe coding offering,\u00a0Agentforce\u00a0Vibes,\u00a0on Wednesday. This new\u00a0coding tool\u00a0helps developers work\u00a0autonomously on Salesforce apps and agents by handling much of the technical implementation automatically.\u00a0Agentforce\u00a0Vibes can help developers\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0app\u00a0idea phase\u00a0to\u00a0building\u00a0to\u00a0observability\u00a0with\u00a0enterprise security and governance controls\u00a0baked in.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
This new tool includes an autonomous AI coding agent\u00a0named Vibe Codey. This agent is already connected to a\u00a0company\u2019s\u00a0existing Salesforce\u00a0account,\u00a0which allows it to reuse\u00a0an org\u2019s\u00a0already-written\u00a0code,\u00a0and follow\u00a0its\u00a0coding guidelines,\u00a0to\u00a0create apps that match\u00a0existing products.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dan Fernandez, the vice president of product for developer services at Salesforce, told TechCrunch that\u00a0Agentforce\u00a0Vibes being connected to a company\u2019s existing Salesforce account gives enterprises the best of both worlds. They get to foray into vibe coding but without the potential security issues and without having to start each project from scratch.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re trying to give you everything,\u201d Fernandez said. \u201cSo rather than having to spend a bunch of time on setting up\u00a0[model context protocols \u2014 systems that let AI models securely communicate with external tools and data], setting up a dev environment, setting up tools,\u00a0everything\u2019s\u00a0prebuilt and ready for you, including AI requests to get started. And that really is\u00a0sort of a\u00a0differentiator on how\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0lowering the barrier to entry.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
This\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0Salesforce\u2019s first foray into vibe coding, Fernandez said,\u00a0but rather the latest\u00a0addition to\u00a0its suite of\u00a0AI developer tools.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Salesforce\u00a0first\u00a0released an AI-powered code building tool\u00a0back in 2023. Last year, the company\u00a0announced the\u00a0general\u00a0availability\u00a0of\u00a0Agentforce\u00a0for developers at its Dreamforce conference.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSan Francisco<\/span> Now,\u00a0everything is coming together.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201c[We are] taking the power of the client tools and\u00a0Agentforce\u00a0for developers and making it tailored to Salesforce development,\u201d Fernandez\u00a0said. \u201cIt\u00a0really is that\u00a0end-to-end\u00a0experience for having\u00a0an\u00a0enterprise vibe coding for the agentic enterprise.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n These new capabilities\u00a0are\u00a0built on\u00a0a fork from\u00a0open source\u00a0AI coding agent\u00a0Cline\u2019s Visual Studio Code Extension.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Fernandez said the company tried a lot of different\u00a0open source\u00a0coding tools before deciding\u00a0to go with Cline partially due to its\u00a0strong support\u00a0of\u00a0MCP,\u00a0or the ability\u00a0for\u00a0AI models to securely communicate with\u00a0external tools and data.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n This release comes at an interesting time for the vibe coding industry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Many vibe coding startups are continuing to raise large funding rounds at eye-watering valuations from investors.\u00a0Vibe coding startup Lovable, for example,\u00a0is allegedly\u00a0turning down unsolicited funding offers\u00a0from investors\u00a0after garnering\u00a0a\u00a0$1.8 billion\u00a0valuation\u00a0just eight months after launching.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Vibe coding startup Anything\u00a0recently\u00a0claimed to\u00a0hit $2 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) just two weeks after launching.\u00a0<\/p>\n Despite the hype,\u00a0the\u00a0long-term\u00a0success of these platforms\u00a0is less clear.\u00a0Due to the sheer volume of large language model usage\u00a0required\u00a0to run these platforms, costs for these companies are high and resulting margins are tight,\u00a0TechCrunch reported in August.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n However, these cost pressures matter less when vibe coding is\u00a0baked into a larger product suite as Salesforce\u2019s\u00a0Agentforce\u00a0Vibes is.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Each Salesforce organization gets 50 requests per org per day using\u00a0OpenAI\u2019s\u00a0GPT-5\u00a0model\u00a0with\u00a0additional\u00a0requests after that going through\u00a0a\u00a0Salesforce-hosted Qwen 3.0 model.
