There have been a growing number of reports of AI generated deepfake images or videos being used maliciously against pupils and teachers.<\/p>\n
One of the first cases to hit the headlines was in Spain where 15 schoolchildren were sentenced to a year\u2019s probation last year for creating and spreading AI generated images of their female peers.<\/p>\n
The case prompted a debate on the harmful and abusive uses of deepfake technology, but since then it has become clear that the problem has become more widespread and is affecting young people across the globe.<\/p>\n
The children\u2019s commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, recently called for AI \u201cnudification\u201d apps that create deepfake sexual images of children to be banned.<\/p>\n
We would like to hear from teachers, school leaders and parents about how they are responding to deepfakes in schools. How have you talked to children? What policies have been put in place? What is the impact on children and school communities?<\/p>\n
