Disagreement surrounding a membership portal of the new leftwing party formed by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana has resulted in a split between the two.<\/p>\n
The former Labour leader said the site had been set up without approval, describing it as a \u201cfalse membership system\u201d that collected money and data without authorisation. He confirmed the party had referred the matter to the ICO and urged supporters to ignore an earlier email requesting funds and cancel any payments.<\/p>\n
Responding to claims from Sultana that she had been frozen out by a \u201csexist boys\u2019 club\u201d inside the party, Corbyn said late on Thursday that she had not been \u201cexcluded from any discussions\u201d.<\/p>\n
Sultana rejected those claims, saying she acted because she was sidelined and frozen out of official accounts. She said her only aim was to \u201csafeguard grassroots involvement\u201d.<\/p>\n
