The new artificial intelligence tool that can predict a person\u2019s risk of 1,000 diseases fills me with apprehension (Report, 17 September). If, say, the tool forecasts that I have a 30% chance of suffering from a horrible condition within the next five years, I\u2019m not sure whether that would be good news or bad. Bringing the dodo back is interesting (Scientists claim they\u2019ve made \u2018pivotal step\u2019 in bringing back the dodo for first time in 300 years, 17 September), but perhaps futile with Homo sapiens<\/em>\u2019 insistence on destroying the planet. Far better to resurrect Homo neanderthalensis<\/em>, by all accounts a more cooperative and less aggressive hominid. Re the far right co-opting the Saint George\u2019s flag (Report, 14 September), may I suggest a \u201creclaim the flag\u201d campaign? This could involve a heart drawn on the\u00a0centre of the flag to represent the tolerant values of the vast majority of people in Britain. In Bury, a Lancashire cotton town, the equivalent sign for giving way (Letters, 14 September) used to be \u201cWeave now\u201d. Re Donald Trump\u2019s state visit, the irony of his administration is that the majority of those who emigrated to the US did so to escape the type of government that he is establishing.
