Lil Nas X is in treatment, his attorneys said this week, following his arrest last month on multiple charges for allegedly charging at police officers who stopped him as he walked in his underwear down a Los Angeles street.<\/p>\n
The artist, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer during the August incident.<\/p>\n
During a court hearing in the case on Monday, attorneys for Hill told Los Angeles county Judge Shellie Samuels that the Grammy-winning musician was receiving in-patient treatment out of state.<\/p>\n
\u201cDefendant is allowed to remain out of state as long as he remains in treatment,\u201d Samuels said, according to Rolling Stone.<\/p>\n
His legal team confirmed the development after the hearing, telling the magazine that \u201cwe\u2019re addressing those issues\u201d and \u201cthis is a bump that he\u2019s going to get over\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly, for his well-being,\u201d attorney Drew Findling said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hill skyrocketed to fame in 2018 after his song Old Town Road became a No 1 hit, and stayed at the top of the charts for a record-breaking 19 weeks. He went on to win two Grammy awards.<\/p>\n
In the early morning hours of 21 August, Hill was allegedly \u201cstrolling naked\u201d on a Studio City street when he allegedly assaulted officers who were trying to take him into custody and injured three, according to a statement from the Los Angeles district attorney\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Days after the incident, the 26-year-old said in a video on social media: \u201cYour girl is gonna be OK, y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was fucking terrifying. That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days but your girl\u2019s gonna be all right.\u201d<\/p>\n
