Police said: \u201cOfficers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at 6:45am [05:45 GMT] today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. During a 15-year professional career, he secured 45 wins from 48 bouts before retiring in 2012.<\/p>\n Hatton\u2019s death prompted an outpouring of tributes from the sporting world.<\/p>\n Former England and Manchester United midfielder David Beckham posted on Instagram: \u201cRicky was one of a kind. Just heartbreaking.\u201d Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury wrote: \u201cRIP to the legend Ricky Hatton. There will only ever be one Ricky Hatton. Can\u2019t believe this \u2013 so young.\u201d<\/p>\n Football figures also paid respect to the lifelong Manchester City supporter. Before City\u2019s Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday, the Etihad Stadium held a minute\u2019s applause, with fans chanting his name.<\/p>\n City manager Pep Guardiola described him as \u201ca true champion\u201d and \u201cpart of the Man City family\u201d. Wayne Rooney, who once carried Hatton\u2019s belts into the ring, said on X that he was \u201cdevastated\u201d, calling him \u201ca legend, a warrior and a great person\u201d.<\/p>\n Hatton\u2019s career featured memorable victories over Kostya Tszyu and Jose Luis Castillo, while his only defeats came against boxing greats Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.<\/p>\n In recent years, Hatton remained close to the sport.
