\n\tFans won\u2019t have to wait too much longer to see the Owens sisters back on the big screen. <\/p>\n
\n\tNicole Kidman took to Instagram Saturday morning to announce that \u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d has wrapped production.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s a wrap on \u2018Practical Magic 2,’\u201d read the caption, \u201cThank you to the cast & crew for all your magic.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThe highly anticipated sequel to the 1998 fantasy comedy is set to hit theaters on Sept. 18, 2026. Kidman, as well as original co-star Sandra Bullock, will both reprise their roles as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who descend from a storied lineage of witches. In the first film, based on Alice Hoffman\u2019s 1995 novel, the Owens sisters must stop a curse that kills every man they fall in love with. Plot details for \u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d are still under wraps, but the film is reportedly based on another book in Hoffman\u2019s \u201cPractical Magic\u201d series.<\/p>\n
\n\tOriginal stars Dianne West and Stockard Channing will also return for the sequel. They are set to reprise their roles as Jet and Frances, respectively, the Owens sisters\u2019 eccentric aunts who educate them on all things magic. Other cast members include Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridue\u00f1a, Solly McLeod and Joey King.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cBird Box\u201d director Susanne Bier will helm the film from a screenplay co-written by Akiva Goldsman, who also co-wrote the first \u201cPractical Magic\u201d, and Georgia Pritchett.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe original \u201cPractical Magic\u201d was not a box office hit upon its 1998 release, only grossing $68.3 million worldwide against its $75 million budget. However, the film achieved cult hit status on home video.<\/p>\n
