\n\tSteve Carell and John Krasinski may not appear in \u201cThe Paper,\u201d but the two actors crashed the set of \u201cThe Office\u201d spinoff on its first day of shooting to wish the cast good luck.<\/p>\n
\n\tAs \u201cThe Paper\u201d star Sabrina Impacciatore told Entertainment Weekly, she and her co-stars Domhnall Gleeson and Chelsea Frei were in their makeup trailer at the Universal Studios Lot in Los Angeles when they were visited by a couple of surprise guests.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cNo makeup yet. We are very anxious. Like, oh my God, we\u2019re so scared. And then we hear\u00a0knock<\/em>, knock<\/em>,\u201d Impacciatore said. \u201cSomeone enters the trailer, and it\u2019s Steve Carell and John Krasinski! We\u2019re fainting. Like, what? Can you imagine? Isn\u2019t it crazy? The first day of shooting!\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tCarell and Krasinski just so happened to be on the studio lot that day, filming a commercial for the Italian coffee brand Lavazza right next door. \u201cI thought, this is a blessing. Italian coffee, which is the coffee that I\u2019ve been drinking all my life,\u201d said Impacciatore, the Italian actor who broke out after her role in the Sicily-set second season of \u201cThe White Lotus.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tImpacciatore said Carell and Krasinski, who played Michael Scott and Jim Halpert on \u201cThe Office,\u201d stopped by the set of \u201cThe Paper\u201d to wish the cast good luck on their first day.<\/p>\n \n\tIt wasn\u2019t the first time Impacciatore met Carell. She had never seen \u201cThe Office\u201d prior to boarding the Peacock offshoot \u201cThe Paper,\u201d so she binged the workplace comedy before beginning production. She became \u201caddicted\u201d to the show, telling EW, \u201cSteve Carell became someone that I loved.\u201d So, when she learned Carell was starring in a Broadway production of \u201cUncle Vanya,\u201d Impacciatore decided to fly from Rome to New York to see the actor in the flesh. She asked \u201cThe Paper\u201d co-creator and \u201cOffice\u201d showrunner Greg Daniels to tell Carell \u201cI think he\u2019s one of the most incredible artists on this planet.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI bought a fucking flight,\u201d Impacciatore said. \u201cI went to see the show. I went to the green room. I waited for him. He came out. I was shaking. I said, \u2018I\u2019m Sabrina! Can you bless me?\u2019 I needed his blessing [for\u00a0\u2018The Paper\u2019]. He was the\u00a0sweetest. He was so warm. He was encouraging me so much. He said, \u2018These people are brilliant. You are going to have the best experience of your life. You\u2019re going to be great.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cHe was giving me confidence,\u201d Impacciatore added. \u201cI will never forget that. Never. It was so right to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn \u201cThe Paper,\u201d Impacciatore plays an editor at a struggling Midwestern newspaper. When an eager new editor-in-chief arrives, she and a group of ragtag staffers are tasked with breathing new life into the Toledo Truth Teller.
