\n\t\u201cSouth Park\u201d is taking on Donald Trump\u2018s Washington D.C. takeover in the third episode of its 27th season, set for release on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 10 p.m..<\/p>\n
\n\tThe official \u201cSouth Park\u201d X account dropped a teaser Tuesday night for the new episode, titled \u201cSickofancy.\u201d In the teaser, we see the show\u2019s pseudo mascot, Towelie, the pot-smoking anthropomorphic towel, arrive in Washington on a bus, only to be met with hundreds of soldiers. Despite the dark clouds overhead and the tanks rolling through the streets, Towelie gleefully proclaims as he approaches the White House Lawn, \u201cThis seems like the perfect place for a towel!\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tAfter Trump called for an aggressive clean-up of crime and homelessness in D.C., he rolled out hundreds of soldiers and federal agents into the streets of the Capitol. The White House also announced it would install an \u201cemergency commissioner\u201d into the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department. On Aug. 14, Alec Baldwin addressed the takeovers in a TikTok video. He said that Trump\u2019s deployment of troops into Washington and his move on the D.C Police are \u201cof such great concern\u201d to him.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cWhat\u2019s gonna happen next? Is Trump going to federalize the New York City Police Department?\u201d Baldwin said. \u201cWhat\u2019s after that? Chicago, L.A., Miami, Boston, and on and on? What\u2019s after that? The NFL? The NBA? Is he gonna federalize them to take them over?\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThe announcements also caught the attention of D.C. Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb, who sued the Trump administration for the \u201cunlawful\u201d moves.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cBy declaring a hostile takeover of MPD, the Administration is abusing its limited, temporary authority under the Home Rule Act, infringing on the District\u2019s right to self-governance and putting the safety of D.C. residents and visitors at risk,\u201d Schwalb said in a statement. \u201cThe Administration\u2019s unlawful actions are an affront to the dignity and autonomy of the 700,000 Americans who call D.C. home.
