\n\tJames Gunn is keeping the future of Margot Robbie\u2018s Harley Quinn in his new DC Universe vague.<\/p>\n
\n\tIn a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gunn was asked if Robbie would return to play the deadly, wisecracking antihero in future DC projects. The \u201cSuperman\u201d director kept his answer brief.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThat will be revealed down the line,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\n\tWhile Harley Quinn\u2019s future in the DC Universe is anyone\u2019s guess, Gunn made it clear that he wants to see the return of another \u201cSuicide Squad\u201d member, Idris Elba\u2019s Bloodsport.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI definitely am always looking for a place to put Bloodsport and figuring that out,\u201d He said. \u201cSo we\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tRobbie played the Joker\u2019s right-hand woman in three DC Films. First in 2016\u2019s \u201cSuicide Squad,\u201d then in 2020\u2019s \u201cBirds of Prey,\u201d and then finally, Gunn\u2019s \u201cThe Suicide Squad\u201d in 2021.<\/p>\n
\n\tBack in 2020, Robbie told Variety<\/em> she \u201cfell in love\u201d with Harley Quinn while shooting the first \u201cSuicide Squad.\u201d She explained that she dove into research for the character, listening to TED talks by women with schizophrenia and reading heaps of comic books.<\/p>\n \n\tShe said at the time, \u201cHarley has this unpredictable nature that means she could react in any way to any situation, which as an actor is just a gift.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFans may get a glimpse of Harley in Matt Reeves\u2019 highly anticipated \u201cBatman Part II,\u201d given her comic book connection to the Caped Crusader. However, the first \u201cBatman\u201d was released in March of 2022, several months before Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios. So it\u2019s unclear whether or not that franchise will be woven into Gunn\u2019s interconnected universe.
