\n\tSharon Stone\u00a0has been rooting for her longtime friend and fellow actor Eric Dane\u00a0for some time.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe actress recently told Entertainment Tonight<\/em> at the Nobody 2<\/em> premiere that she was Dane\u2019s \u201csupport staff\u201d when he was auditioning for the hit HBO show Euphoria<\/em> years ago. Earlier this year, the actor revealed that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis\u00a0(ALS). <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cEric and I have been friends for a long time. A long time,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cAnd I actually was like his support staff when he was trying to get the job on\u00a0Euphoria<\/em>. So he would come over to my house and give me gluten-free cookies and we\u2019d sit and discuss it because he really wanted that job.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tStone added that \u201cit means the world to me that he got that job in time,\u201d prior to his ALS diagnosis.<\/p>\n \n\tThe two actors are set to star in the upcoming third season, with Dane reprising his role as Cal Jacobs, the Jacobs family patriarch, and Stone joining in a mystery role. Dane initially debuted his character in 2019\u2019s season one.<\/p>\n \n\tIn April, the Grey\u2019s Anatomy <\/em>alum announced his ALS diagnosis publicly, writing, \u201cI am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of\u00a0Euphoria<\/em>\u00a0next week,\u201d he added at the time. \u201cI kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tALS, also known as Lou Gehrig\u2019s disease, is a \u201cnervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.\u00a0ALS\u00a0causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time,\u201d according to the\u00a0Mayo Clinic.
