\n\tJackie Chan reenacted his role in Bruce Lee\u2019s \u201cEnter the Dragon\u201d at Switzerland\u2019s Locarno Film Festival.<\/p>\n
\n\tChan played a small part in the iconic film. In the past, he admitted Lee accidentally hit him with a stick during a scene \u2013 but that didn\u2019t stop him from completing the take.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI\u2019m no Superman. I am scared,\u201d he admitted. \u201cBefore a stunt, I go: \u2018Am I going to die this time\u2019?\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tDuring a masterclass at the Swiss fest, he talked about his beginnings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s a long, long story,\u201d he said. \u201cI was lazy, naughty, I didn\u2019t want to study \u2013 that\u2019s why my father sent me to martial arts school. I liked fighting when I was young. Later, he asked: \u2018Did you like the school?\u2019 Yes, very much. I could kick the teacher, punch someone \u2013 whatever I wanted to do,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n
\n\tChan started out as a stuntman, appearing in Lee\u2019s \u201cFist of Fury\u201d, before eventually transitioning into acting following some childhood experiences on set.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI went: \u2018Movies are great \u2013 I can have my own lunch box\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThe star delighted the audience with his animated presence, at times seeking their help to find the right words or titles. He also opened up about his absent father, who used to send him tapes with the recordings of his voice. \u201cIf I listened to them now, I think I\u2019d cry.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tHe wanted to learn filmmaking from scratch. \u201cI\u2019d even put on my own makeup \u2013 I wanted to show the director I\u2019m good enough.\u201d After a while, he decided to take over directing duties as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI do everything \u2013 myself. Now, I tell filmmakers: \u2018If you only learn how to direct, that\u2019s not good enough\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThe audience doesn\u2019t know about the rain or the producer, or that the budget was cut. They just want a good movie. I always remember that, so I try to make every scene perfect. Now, these big studios, they are not filmmakers \u2013 they are business guys. It\u2019s very difficult to make a good movie these days.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tHe added: \u201cI always learn how to change.\u201d Not afraid of singing either, he serenaded the audience, admitting he always wanted to be \u201can actor who can fight,\u201d not just an action star.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cOnly now they say: \u2018Jackie is a good actor,\u2019 and that\u2019s why you gave me this award.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tChan has received Locarno\u2019s career achievement award, the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera, on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cHe reinvented, literally, what an action film is,\u201d said artistic director Giona A. Nazzaro, calling him a \u201ctrue genius.\u201d \u201cThere is before Jackie Chan and there\u2019s after.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tAccepting the award, Chan recalled a conversation he had with his father, back when he asked him: \u201cI\u2019m 60. Can you still fight when you\u2019re 60?\u201d Chan replied: \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to say [to him].
