\n\tRene\u00e9 Rapp has a pitch for the writers of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tThe actress-singer was recently asked for the Today<\/em> show\u2019s \u201c8 Before 8\u201d video series, \u201cIf you had a guest starring role on SVU<\/em>, what character would you play?\u201d And it\u2019s safe to say she doesn\u2019t want just a victim or killer role.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cLet me tell ya. I would be Mariska Hargitay\u2018s lover. She would be gay, finally,\u201d Rapp responded, referring to the actress who plays Captain Olivia Benson on the long-running police procedural.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThere was an episode where they were talking about it and considering if she was gay,\u201d the \u201cLeave Me Alone\u201d singer recalled. \u201cI feel like\u00a0Christopher Meloni\u2019s character [Detective Elliot Stabler] was like, \u2018No, like, you\u2019re a lesbian.\u2019 And she was like, \u2018Um, no.\u2019 Liar.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAs for how Rapp imagines her storyline unfolding on SVU<\/em>, she added, \u201cI would be her lover and we would somehow get tangled in an undercover kind of miss[ion], probably with a drug empire.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThroughout SVU<\/em>\u2018s 26-season run (and counting as the show returns for its 27th season this fall), Hargitay\u2018s character has seen several romantic interests; however, fans have overwhelmingly wanted Olivia Benson to end up with Meloni\u2019s\u00a0Elliot Stabler.<\/p>\n \n\tMeloni left Law & Order: SVU<\/em> as a series regular in 2011, after 12 seasons, but has made guest appearances throughout the years and reprised his role in the spinoff Law & Order: Organized Crime<\/em>. He also recently teased on social media a potential return to SVU<\/em>, sharing on-set photos with Hargitay and co-star Dann Florek. \u201cHangin with friends on a Friday nite,\u201d he wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n \n\tAs for Rapp, while she\u2019s turned her focus to music recently, she rose to fame with her role as Leighton Murray on Sex Lives of College Girls<\/em> and for playing Regina George in the Broadway <\/em>adaptation of Mean Girls<\/em> and later the movie musical. She also just released her sophomore album, Bite Me<\/em>.<\/p>\n
