She\u2019s flying down the descent! <strong>Niewiadoma-Phinney <\/strong>responds and<strong> Gigante<\/strong> is distanced (she\u2019s often considered a more tentative descender). <strong>Van der Breggen<\/strong>\u2019s lead is being eroded.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>58km to go:<\/strong> The yellow jersey group are riding tightly together and ready to respond to any moves. <strong>Niewiadoma-Phinney<\/strong> has a cut on her leg from when she came down at the start of the <strong>Col de Joux-Plane<\/strong>. <strong>Van der Breggen<\/strong>\u2019s lead has been trimmed down to 1min.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>60km to go: Van der Breggen<\/strong> is just over 3km away from the summit of this brutal climb. Her lead is dropping slightly and is down to 1min 23secs. The yellow jersey group now consists of seven riders: <strong>Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot<\/strong>, <strong>Gigante<\/strong>, <strong>Vollering<\/strong>, <strong>Niewiadoma-Phinney, Fisher-Black, Labous <\/strong>and <strong>W\u0142odarczyk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">On the topic of <strong>Squiban<\/strong> and the polka dot jersey, <strong>Beau<\/strong> emails in to say:<\/p>\n<p>Squiban needs to make a big charge here to pick up any more points. She\u2019s less than a minute back of the yellow jersey group, but she has to pass a lot of riders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Good point. Also, the yellow jersey group aren\u2019t going to knock off the pace, especially as <strong>Gigante<\/strong> keeps attacking.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>62km to go:<\/strong> At the front, <strong>Van der Breggen<\/strong> rides her tempo \u2013 she has 1min 50secs on the yellow jersey group. But then, <strong>Gigante<\/strong> attacks again and quickly reduces that gap to 1min 33secs.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"dcr-1wl2b6o\">Alba Teruel Ribes withdraws from the race<\/h2>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">According to the Tour race centre, <strong>Alba Teruel Ribes<\/strong> (Laboral Kutxa-Fundacion Euskadi) has just left the Tour route and withdrawn from the race.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>64km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Gigante<\/strong> attacks. <strong>Ferrand-Prevot<\/strong> is firmly on her wheel. <strong>Niewiadoma-Phinney<\/strong>, <strong>Vollering<\/strong>, <strong>Fisher-Black<\/strong>, <strong>Labous<\/strong>, and <strong>Wlodarczyk<\/strong> are also there. This reduces the group to just seven, with the yellow jersey group now 1min 15secs behind <strong>Van der Breggen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>Marc<\/strong> has been in touch from <strong>Mauritius<\/strong> where he has been following <strong>Kim Le Court Pienaar\u2019<\/strong>s exploits in the <strong>Tour de France Femmes<\/strong>. He says:<\/p>\n<p>Almost 10,000 kms away from Mauritius, we followed Kim Lecourt and the Tour with your help. She is now a star here and she made a statement that we could also compete with the best of the big countries on their terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>67km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Niewiadoma-Phinney<\/strong> is paced back to the yellow jersey group by her teammate <strong>Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig<\/strong> (Canyon\/SRAM zondacrypto). <strong>Kerbaol <\/strong>and<strong> Vallieres<\/strong> are still trying to get back. But they\u2019re quickly up and trying to get back to the peloton.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>68km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Van der Breggen<\/strong> has started the tough <strong>Col de Joux-Plane<\/strong> climb (HC, 11.6km at 8.5%) and is being cheered by the huge crowds lining the road. The peloton follow 1min 43secs behind.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>73km to go: Wiebes<\/strong> and <strong>Chabbey<\/strong> are back with the yellow jersey group. And just in time, as the intermediate sprint is up. Wiebes sweeps forwards and gets 20pts to add to her green jersey lead.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>79km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Ricarda Bauernfeind<\/strong> (Canyon\/SRAM zondacrypto) gets down on to the drops and tries to acclerate away from the yellow jersey group but is swiftly brought back. <strong>Van der Breggen<\/strong>\u2019s lead remains steady at about 1min 30secs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>C\u00f4te d\u2019Ar\u00e2ches-la-Frasse QOM climb result:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">1. Van der Breggen, 10pts<br \/>2. Squiban, 8pts<br \/>3. Vollering, 6pts<br \/>4. Ferrand Prevot, 4pts<br \/>5. It\u2019s a brave move from van der Breggen if she\u2019s eyeing up the stage win. There\u2019s a long way to go. She keeps plugging away and creates an 20sec gap. <strong>Wiebes<\/strong> and <strong>Elise Chabbey<\/strong> (FDJ-Suez) have dropped back. <strong>Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot<\/strong> is safely tucked in to the front of the peloton.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p>Updated at\u00a010.13 EDT<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>94km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Van der Breggen<\/strong> tries a number of small attacks as the riders head towards the sweeping alpine climb. So far, she hasn\u2019t managed to get away.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>98km to go: Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot<\/strong> and <strong>Gigante<\/strong> have made it back, plus the breakaway have been caught. So, the riders are all back together as they head towards the category one <strong>C\u00f4te d\u2019Ar\u00e2ches-la-Frasse<\/strong> (6.2km at 7.1%).<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>102km to go: Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot<\/strong> has been distanced! She\u2019s in a group that\u2019s 40secs behind the peloton. The breakaway are only 19secs ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>105km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Kopecky<\/strong> and <strong>Brand<\/strong> have made it across, so, along with <strong>Gerritse<\/strong> and <strong>van der Breggen<\/strong>, there are now three <strong>SD Worx-Protime riders<\/strong> in the breakaway. Van der Breggen is 12th placed on GC and is 9mins 25secs behind <strong>Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot<\/strong>, so perhaps she\u2019s hoping for a stage win as that\u2019s too much time to make up for the yellow jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>111km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Gerritse<\/strong> and <strong>van der Breggen <\/strong>have been working together in the break and have managed a slim 23sec gap from the peloton. <strong>Brand<\/strong> (Lidl-Trek) and <strong>Lotte Kopecky<\/strong> (SD Worx-Protime) are coming up the road to join them.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"dcr-1wl2b6o\">Chloe Dygert and Brodie Chapman withdraw from the race<\/h2>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>Chlo\u00e9 Dygert<\/strong> (Canyon\/SRAM zondacrypto) and <strong>Brodie Chapman<\/strong> (UAE Team ADQ) did not start stage nine so are withdrawn from the race. I haven\u2019t seen a reason given yet but will update when I hear more.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>120km to go: Wiebes<\/strong>\u2019 group have been caught by the peloton. The riders are birefly back together before <strong>Femke Gerritse<\/strong> and <strong>Anna van der Breggen<\/strong> (<strong>SD Worx-Protime<\/strong>) attack!<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>122km to go: Lucinda Brand <\/strong>(<strong>Lidl-Trek<\/strong>) surges forward but her move is followed by the peloton. <strong>Wiebes<\/strong> is 20secs ahead and <strong>Julie Bego<\/strong> (Cofidis), <strong>Sarah Van Dam<\/strong> (Ceratizit Pro Cycling) and <strong>Marie Le Ne<\/strong>t (FDJ-Suez) bridge across to join her.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"dcr-1wl2b6o\">The racing has begun!<\/h2>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>124km to go:<\/strong> <strong>Marion Rousse<\/strong> has waved the flag and racing is officially under way! <strong>Lorena Wiebes<\/strong> (<strong>SD Worx-Protime<\/strong>) is straight off.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p>Updated at\u00a009.28 EDT<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"dcr-1wl2b6o\">Today\u2019s rollout has begun<\/h2>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><strong>Stage nine <\/strong>of the <strong>Tour de France Femmes 2025<\/strong> is under way. The peloton have rolled out from <strong>Praz-sur-Arly<\/strong>. There\u2019s a short <strong>2 km<\/strong> <strong>neutralised section<\/strong> before the racing begins.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Here is another description of today\u2019s stage, this time via the Tour race centre:<\/p>\n<p>The ninth and final stage begins with a long descent, promising sparks from the first kilometres. Three major climbs will then provide further fireworks on this 124.1km Haute-Savoie course: the C\u00f4te d\u2019Ar\u00e2ches-la-Frasse (category one, 6.2km at 7.1%), the Col de Joux Plane (Hors Categorie, 11.6km at 8.5%), and the Col du Corbier (category one, 5.9km at 8.5%).<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Joux Plane is the biggest challenge with its gradient that sometimes reaches 11%. At the summit, there are still 58km and the Corbier to cover, the summit of which will still be quite a long way from the finish (29km). The finale takes the form of an interminable uphill false flat littered with delicious changes in slope. The slightest failure will be dearly paid for.<\/p>\n<p>The important role of teammates promises to be crucial. The game of pawns placed in the breakaway could be decisive as the finish approaches. So many scenarios could play out. The action will begin on the C\u00f4te Ar\u00e2ches-la-Frasse (6.2km at 7.1%) and continue, of course, on the Joux Plane (11.6km at 8.5%) and then on the Col du Corbier (5.9km at 8.5%). The climb towards the finish, at Pr\u00e9 la Joux, is steep as it passes through Ch\u00e2tel on the leg-breaking Route de la Bechigne.<\/p>\n<p>Share<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"dcr-1wl2b6o\">Preamble<\/h2>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">It\u2019s the final day of the <strong>Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2025<\/strong>! Today, the riders will face a <strong>124.1km mountain stage<\/strong> with <strong>2,820m of elevation gain<\/strong>. It\u2019s a relentless parcours with <strong>two category one climbs<\/strong> and a <strong>Hors cat\u00e9gorie climb<\/strong> \u2013 the most difficult type of climb in a race.
