\n\tLindsay Lohan is opening up about her feelings of being pigeonholed by roles she\u2019s played in the past as a longstanding actress in the entertainment industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tAfter starring in 1998\u2019s The Parent Trap<\/em> when she was 12, Lohan\u2019s career skyrocketed. She went on to appear in many more beloved projects, including Freaky Friday<\/em> and Mean Girls<\/em>, and she is next up set to reprise her role in the former film with the 2025 followup Freakier Friday<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tIn a Saturday profile with The Times U.K.<\/em>, Lohan admitted that she \u201cwanted to take a minute\u201d to herself, which saw her shy away from leading roles from 2013 until 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI was losing that feeling of excitement about doing a film, and I wanted to live my own life for a bit, figure out how to have a more private life, a real life,\u201d she explained. \u201cI wanted to wait to get that itch again.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tA new project Lohan is admittedly excited about is her upcoming Hulu Drama Count My Lies<\/em>, where she will star and produce. Still, when reflecting on her career thus far and asked if she felt \u201cpigeonholed,\u201d she replied, \u201cYeah, I do.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI was so thrilled to work on A Prairie Home Companion<\/em>, and yet even today I have to fight for stuff that is like that, which is frustrating. Because, well, you know me as this \u2014 but you also know I can do that. So let me! Give me the chance,\u201d Lohan said. \u201cI have to break that cycle and open doors to something else, leaving people no choice. And in due time, if Martin Scorsese reaches out, I\u2019m not going to say no.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAt the Los Angeles premiere of Freakier Friday<\/em>, Lohan told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> that moving forward in her career, she would \u201c\u200b\u200blike to take on some more serious, dramatic roles,\u201d further noting that she felt a bit of pressure to stick to the rom-com genre.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI love doing romantic comedy because that\u2019s where my home is and I feel like where my fans want to see me, but I\u2019d like to take on some things that are different; maybe find something that\u2019s an action-packed film.
