\n\tOn a recent episode of GQ\u2019s \u201cMost Iconic Characters,\u201d Neeson, who plays Qui-Gon Jinn in the \u201cStar Wars\u201d prequel, joked that his death in the film was \u201ca bit namby-pamby\u201d and that he thought a Jedi master would fare better in a battle with a Sith lord.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI thought my death was a bit namby-pamby,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m supposed to be a master Jedi. My character fell for the \u2018Oh, I\u2019m going for your face! No, I\u2019m not, I\u2019m going for your stomach.\u2019 \u2018Oh, you got me!\u2019 Please, hardly a master Jedi.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tElsewhere in the interview, Neeson said that on set, \u201cStar Wars\u201d mastermind George Lucas felt a bit awkward directing actors, and that he preferred to shape the film in the editing bay.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cGeorge doesn\u2019t like directing. Period. He told me that,\u201d Neeson explained. \u201cHe\u2019d finish a scene, he\u2019d say, \u2018Natalie, a little bit faster. Liam, a little bit faster there.\u2019 [In the] editing suite afterwards, that\u2019s when he starts enjoying the process. But actually directing actors and stuff, he told me he doesn\u2019t like it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tNeeson trades his light saber for a police badge in his latest flick, \u201cThe Naked Gun,\u201d which is in theaters now. The Paramount reboot sees a typically brooding Neeson in the role of Detective Frank Drebin Jr., who must solve a murder to keep the Police Squad from shutting down for good.
