\n\tDon Zimmerman, a film editor known for his work on the Rocky<\/em> movies, Jumper<\/em>, Night at the Museum<\/em> and Men in Black 3<\/em>, who also received an Oscar nomination for 1978\u2019s Coming Home<\/em>, has died. He was 81.<\/p>\n \n\tThe public relations\u00a0and marketing agency, Perception PR, announced his death on social media, writing, \u201cRest in Peace Don Zimmerman \u2026 He will be greatly missed.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\tHaving grown up in Los Angeles, Zimmerman made his way into the entertainment industry in the early 1970s, working in the editorial department for several projects, such as The Landlord<\/em>, Harold and Maude<\/em>, The Last of Sheila<\/em>, The Nickel Ride<\/em>, Shampoo<\/em> and Bound for Glory<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tAfter assisting filmmaker Hal Ashby\u2019s 1971 movie Harold and Maude<\/em>, he teamed up with him again on the 1978 drama Coming Home<\/em>, which served as Zimmerman\u2019s first solo editor credit. The film, starring Jane Fonda and Jon Voight, also earned Zimmerman his first Oscar nomination for best film editing.<\/p>\n \n\tHe later collaborated with Ashby again on his 1979 film Being There<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tZimmerman\u2019s other credits included A Change of Seasons<\/em> (1980), Barbarosa<\/em> (1982), Best Friends <\/em>(1982), Rocky III <\/em>(1982), Rocky IV<\/em> (1985), Cobra<\/em> (1986), The Prince of Tides<\/em> (1991), Leap of Faith<\/em> (1992), Ace Ventura: Pet Detective <\/em>(1994), The Nutty Professor<\/em> (1996), Liar Liar<\/em> (1997), <\/strong>Patch Adams<\/em> (1998), The Cat in the Hat<\/em> (2003), Flight of the Phoenix<\/em> (2004), Night at the Museum<\/em> (2006), Rush Hour 3<\/em> (2007), Jumper <\/em>(2008), Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian<\/em> (2009), Marmaduke <\/em>(2010), Men in Black 3<\/em> (2012) and RED 2<\/em> (2013).<\/p>\n \n\tIn 2023, Zimmerman received the American Cinema Editors\u2019 prestigious Career Achievement Award.<\/p>\n
