\n\tSkyler Gisondo is looking to go from a movie about the Fortress of Solitude to one about the circle of trust.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe actor, fresh off his role in Superman<\/em>, is in talks to join the cast of the next film in the Meet the Parents<\/em> franchise as the son of Ben Stiller and Teri Polo\u2018s characters. Series mainstays Stiller,\u00a0Polo, Robert De Niro,\u00a0Owen Wilson and\u00a0Blythe Danner\u00a0will star alongside newcomer Ariana Grande in the film that Universal releases in theaters Nov. 25, 2026. John Hamburg, who worked on the screenplay for the 2000 original and the two subsequent sequels, is directing from his own script.<\/p>\n \n\tProducers include De Niro and Jane Rosenthal for Tribeca Productions,\u00a0Jay Roach\u00a0for Delirious Media and Stiller and John Lesher for Red Hour Films. Universal\u2019s executive vp of production development Matt Reilly and director of production development Jacqueline Garrell are overseeing the project for the studio.<\/p>\n \n\tHelmed by Roach,\u00a0Meet the Parents<\/em>\u00a0focuses on a nurse (Stiller) having trouble getting accepted by his girlfriend\u2019s overbearing father (De Niro). The 2000 film surpassed $330 million at the global box office, and 2004\u2019s sequel\u00a0Meet the Fockers<\/em>, which added Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand to the cast, was even bigger, collecting $522 million worldwide.<\/p>\n \n\tRoach directed the first two movies, while Paul Weitz helmed 2010\u2019s\u00a0Little Fockers<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tGisondo, who co-stars as Jimmy Olsen in this summer\u2019s Warner Bros. hit Superman<\/em>, is known for such features as Licorice Pizza<\/em>, Booksmart<\/em> and Vacation<\/em> and series including The Righteous Gemstones<\/em> and The Resort<\/em>.
