\n\tWarner Bros. has released the first official trailer for \u201cMortal Kombat 2,\u201d the sequel to the hit video game adaptation released in 2021. \u201cMortal Kombat 2\u201d will release in theaters on Oct. 24.<\/p>\n
\n\tWhile the original \u201cMortal Kombat\u201d movie introduced several of the iconic fighting video game\u2019s characters, the sequel adds quite a few more familiar faces. \u201cThe Boys\u201d star Karl Urban joins the cast as Johnny Cage, a Hollywood playboy who\u2019s one of the most famous human characters in the \u201cMortal Kombat\u201d franchise. <\/p>\n
\n\tAlso joining the cast is Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, the deadly princess who wields steel fans as her weapon of choice; \u201cYou\u201d star Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Kitana\u2019s childhood friend who uses a bo staff; Damon Herriman as the dark wizard Quan Chi; bodybuilder Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, the evil emperor of the Outworld dimension; Ana Thu Nguyen as\u00a0Queen Sindel, Kitana\u2019s mother; Desmond Chiam\u00a0as\u00a0Kitana\u2019s father King Jerrod; and CJ Bloomfield\u00a0as\u00a0Baraka, a fanged fighter with retractable claws.<\/p>\n
\n\tReturning cast members include Lewis Tan\u00a0as the original character Cole Young; Jessica McNamee\u00a0as\u00a0 military officer Sonya Blade; Ludi Lin\u00a0as\u00a0the fireball launching, karate master Liu Kang; Mehcad Brooks\u00a0as\u00a0Jackson \u201cJax\u201d Briggs, complete with super strong, bionic arms; Josh Lawson\u00a0as\u00a0the Australian killer Kano; Chin Han\u00a0as\u00a0the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung; \u201cShogun\u201d actor Tadanobu Asano\u00a0as\u00a0Raiden the thunder god; fellow \u201cShogun\u201d star Hiroyuki Sanada as the fiery fighter Scorpion; Joe Taslim as his archenemy, the icy cold Sub-Zero; and Max Huang\u00a0as\u00a0Kung Lao, who wields a razor sharp hat.<\/p>\n
