The second has no music.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tA Metallica representative confirmed to <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> that the use of \u201cEnter Sandman\u201d in the original video was unauthorized. The Pentagon said in a statement Friday that X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, asked the department to remove the video due to a copyright issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn the video, former Fox News host and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says that the military will manufacture and use more drones. \u201cWe were brought here to rebuild the military,\u201d he says. \u201cMatch capabilities to the threats of today. So while our adversaries have produced millions of cheap drones before us, we were mired in bureaucratic red tape. During the Iraq War, the military reportedly used Metallica music to torture detainees. In 2013, the Navy SEAL who killed Osama Bin Laden told Esquire that the band asked the military to stop using the song for such purposes. \u201cWhen we first started the war in Iraq, we were using Metallica music to soften people up before we interrogated them,\u201d\u00a0he said. \u201cMetallica got wind of this and they said, \u2018Hey, please don\u2019t use our music because we don\u2019t want to promote violence.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn 2016, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich told Vulture there\u2019s not much the band can do about the military using its music that way. \u201cI\u2019ve had to sit there and answer questions like, \u2018How do you feel about the U.S. military using your songs to torture prisoners?\u2019 I mean, as much as that makes me squirm, when you hand those recording master tapes to the FedEx guy and then the music goes out into the world, you\u2019ve gotta let it go. Whether people like it or hate it, you just find a way to deal with it.
